Westside Ministries is hosting their second annual Fascination Fashion Show on Nov. 19 at 4 p.m. located at 950 Columbia St. in Turlock.
Children and women involved in the ministry’s programs will model dresses that range from casual to party wear. The dresses will then be sold at discounted prices to help Westside Ministries make it possible for children to attend summer camp.
With a total of 30 new gowns for sale ranging in all sizes, dresses from Los Angeles and even one-of-a-kinds will be available.
“We desire to find new, amazing dresses for young ladies who may not be able to afford a dress,” JoLynn DiGrazia, Director of Westside Ministries said.
“We want to encourage women to be fascinated with being their best.”
Westside Ministries works to “equip young people to become leaders in a renewed community of hope and fulfillment,” according to its website. Working towards that goal, Westside Ministries is doing more than offering reasonably-priced clothes; they also provide a space for children to engage in activities ranging from gardening to ballet. Westside Ministries makes what seem like weekly chores to some into fun, interactive activities for underserved children living on the west side of Turlock.
Last year’s fashion show had about 100 attendees. The event “encouraged the young ladies who were in it that they could do something outside their comfort zone,” DiGrazia said.
As the last act, guest speaker Michelle Bernal, a local business woman, will share her personal experiences with the audience regarding how her faith reinvented her marriage and saved her family.
Finding your next party dress and enjoying offered refreshments is a guarantee while supporting Westside Ministries’ attempt to make a difference.
“The event is free,” DiGrazia said.
“What college student doesn’t want free food?”
