With parking pass prices going up nearly every year and spring fast approaching, cycling to campus has never been so enticing.
Before deciding to commute by bicycle, students should make sure they have all the necessities and that their bicycles are in good operating condition for their cross-campus ride.
Cycle Masters is a locally owned bicycle shop located in downtown Turlock, and the new owners have their eyes set on capturing the hearts of the California State University, Stanislaus student body with some great deals.
All CSU Stanislaus students are encouraged by Cycle Masters to visit and receive a special “Back-to-School Spring Special” running from February to the end of March.
The deal includes a bicycle safety check, a basic wipe down, wheel truing, derailleur adjustment and a brake check for 50 percent off.
Students can also receive a 10 percent discount on all sale items in the store.
Morris and Woodall also pride themselves on their fast turnaround since taking over the store.
Woodall says they can fix a flat tire almost immediately when you walk in, and all other repairs can be completed within 24 hours.
Cycle Masters has served the Turlock area since 1980 and was purchased last November by former employees John Morris and Dan Woodall. Morris graduated from CSU Stanislaus back in 2002 with a degree in Economics.
After teaching for a few years, he left to work at the bicycle shop because it had always been a big part of his life. Woodall is a Central Valley native and has owned multiple businesses in the Turlock area.
Cycle Masters is located at 605 East Main St. and is open Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
