According to The Student Right to Know Daily Incident Log, the University Police Department (UPD) had an estimated 340 foot and extra patrols on and around campus during the month of February, 50 more patrols than the previous month.
Feb. 4, a sex offense was reported from The Village. Action was immediately taken and the offender was suspended from campus until further investigation had taken place.
UPD was busy this month helping Turlock Police Department with around eight assists as well as three outstanding warrant arrests made off-campus on Feb. 9, 24, and 26.
During February, UPD has been involved in multiple incidents of vehicle violations, again a large increase from January. The violations included expired or revoked licenses, failure to stop at a stop sign and texting while operating a vehicle; estimating about 44 traffic stops, almost 30 more than the previous month.
UPD responded to three Emergency Blue Light Phone hang ups, accompanied by seven fire alarms in The Village and five false alarms throughout campus.
Burglary and theft is one thing that has seen a decrease during February compared to January. UPD reported three cases of larceny petty theft, two of the cases taking place in Naragi Hall of Science Building on Feb. 13 & 25 and in parking lot eight on Feb. 19. A case of larceny theft was also reported of auto parts/accessories valuing under $50 in parking lot eight on Feb.18.
There was six reported cases of a suspicious persons throughout campus, accompanied by eight suspicious circumstances. Three different cases of suspicious vehicles were reported in various parking lots on campus.
In parking lot 11, there was an incident including possession of a controlled substance. UPD responded to two cases of injured persons on campus, one on Feb.4 in Dorothy and Bill Bizzini Hall and at the Student Recreation Center on Feb. 19.
