LOS ANGELES – The California State University, Stanislaus Warriors jousted the weekend series with a loss Friday as the California State University, Los Angeles Golden Eagles won the first of four games, 10-8. 
By the top of the third, the Warriors had built a 7-0 lead, but the Golden Eagles struck back, scoring two runs of what would be ten in the next four innings.
Sophomore Andy Yingling went 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs for the game, while the senior from Buena Park, DJ Arellano, contributed hitting 1-for-3 with 3 RBIs.
“I felt that we did well putting pressure on them early but just couldn’t keep capitalizing at the plate after that inning,” Yingling said. “Yeah errors always hurt, but after the third inning we didn’t do well hitting and couldn’t get anything going again.”
After a strong-armed first start, Byron Lemon, the junior from Elk Grove, struggled as he gave up nine hits and seven earned runs in four innings of work, while giving up one walk, striking out two and picking up his first loss of the season.
For the Golden Eagles, Cliff Quick, Danieuran and Jesus Cuevas all had three or more hits to lead the offense for the Golden Eagles that ravaged 10 runs in five innings.
Cedar Morgan picked up his first win of the year as he pitched 3 innings, while yielding one run and one hit, one walk and striking out three.
