CARSON- The California State University Stanislaus, Warriors were unable to secure a CCAA berth on Friday due to their loss at California State University, Dominguez Hills 71-78.
The Warriors led 37-21 at intermission; however the Toros quickly turned the game around in the second half, scoring 57 points. Five points by Robert Willhite allowed the Toros to cut the Warriors’ lead to ten, when the Toros suddenly regained their fire. Stanislaus stayed close with the Toros 51-51 when the Toros scored eight points and pulled ahead in the game.
Reggie Jones had 22 points and 6 rebounds while Ronnie Sawyer and Frank Monge each added 11 points for Stanislaus.
The Warriors are now 13-10 overall and 9-10 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association while the Toros are 12-9 overall and 11-8 in conference play.
