There comes a time in most people’s lives where they are touched by a band or album in such a way that they can’t stop listening. Sometimes a band comes along whose main purpose is to make people fall in love with music all over again.
That band is local folk/indie band Lonewolf Community from Manteca, California. The concept of Lonewolf Community is simply to write, play and share music with everyone.
The band consists of just one man, Joshua Gallagher, who sings and plays acoustic guitar. While Gallagher is the only member of Lonewolf Community, each show he has different musicians join him to create a live band.
On Friday, Feb. 17, Gallagher took the stage with a pianist, bassist and drummer at “The Gathering” (a local church that occasionally holds shows) in Turlock, California to share his love for music.
Lonewolf Community’s set was very relaxed, with many people scattered about the venue simply enjoying the sounds. The band is not the type to jump around and toss instruments everywhere, they are more about great songwriting, which is what the crowd got.
Lonewolf Community only played a short, four-song set, but that didn’t hinder the band from showing what talented musicians they are. Each member accompanying Lonewolf Community on Friday brought clean playing and their own special brand of musicianship to Gallagher’s songs.
There were some little glitches here and there, but with smooth bass lines, great drumming and three-part harmonies that could bring someone to tears, Lonewolf Community showed Turlock that passionate music still exists in a music industry that is filled with so much fluff.
