With summer break around the corner for California State University, Stanislaus (Stan State) students, making plans for what to do over break is crucial. Some will stay in California, but if you have a few extra days there are some destinations that can also make for a road trip.
If you are looking to get out of the country through a road trip, your best bet would be Canada.
University of California, Davis, student Puja Dhanota got to experience life in Canada for a short while, but is something that she still talks about to this day.
“Visiting Montreal was an amazing experience! The atmosphere was welcoming and I thoroughly enjoyed visiting Notre Dame Basilica. I hope to return to and explore more of Canada soon,” Dhanota said.

Arizona is another place to travel. With many destinations to visit, it will make your trip worthwhile.
Taylor Hensley (junior, Communication Studies) is one of the many people who have gotten to explore Arizona.
“I have visited Temple, Phoenix and Scottsdale,” Hensley added. “The landscape was beautiful. Giant red rock formations, cacti everywhere, clear and gorgeous blue skies.”
She goes into detail about one of the places that she got to visit.
“Temple is a college town that has everything you could possibly imagine, from restaurants to nightlife,” Hensley said.
She went to Arizona for a chance to experience some baseball.
“The reason I have visited these areas in Arizona was to watch baseball. From October through November, Arizona Fall League opens runs. That features all the top prospects from around the league. Spring training runs February to late April. Tickets to the games are cheap and the weather is perfection!” she stated.
She also mentions information for golf fans.
“If you are a golf fan, the Waste Management Open happens and that is a big event for locals in Phoenix,” she added.
