Naraghi Café, which opened just over three weeks ago, has brought about a nice change for students that find themselves in the Naraghi Hall of Science building.
The cafe, which is centered in the lobby of the science building, is the polar opposite of its sister cafe, located in the Mary Stuart Rodgers Building. The hustle and bustle of MSR isn’t seen anywhere near as often in Naraghi, but students are enjoying the new cafe just as much.
For students like Annalicia Rodriguez (freshman, Child Development), who uses the cafe almost every day, it’s a lot more convenient than the cafe in MSR. Rodriguez said, “That’s why I usually come here, because the one in MSR is ridiculously busy.”
The empty lines and easy access have been the popular takeaway from students regularly visiting the science building. Tristan Jones (senior, Communication Studies) said he visits the cafe 2-3 times a week because of the short lines. Jones said, “This one is always the least busy one…I don’t think a lot of people come over here [Naraghi]. The one over here is kinda on the outskirts.”
The addition of the Naraghi Cafe has been a welcome one for students on campus, with the sandwiches at the cafe being a most notable hit, but not everyone on campus knows about it just yet.
Clealy Torres, an employee at the Naraghi Cafe, said, “We get rushes here and there…I think we’ll get busier, but I feel like next semester more people will know about it and come out.”
While those who have frequented the new cafe on campus enjoy it, it is still quiet compared to the MSR cafe because of location. Just three weeks after opening day, the Naraghi Cafe is enjoying its new-found home, despite being quite unknown or out of the way to many students.
If you find yourself over on that side of campus, head over and grab one of the popular sandwiches or even a cup of coffee. The long lines at MSR can be tedious, so it may be ideal for students to check out their new cafe on campus and save themselves the time.
