Dr. Marcy Chvasta has been at CSU Stanislaus since 2010. She currently teaches Group Discussion Processes, Oral Interpretation of Children’s Literature and Mass Media Theory And Research.
I talked with Dr. Chvasta over email about her musical tastes, how music influences her teaching and scholarly career and likewise how her teaching and scholarly interests have affected her relationship with music. This relationship feels anything but unexamined – and you’d be hard-pressed to find a song on her playlist that doesn’t have a story behind it. As she says: “I’m not a fan of the cliché, ‘There’s no accounting for taste.’ ”
