March 3 marked the second anniversary of the opening of the University Student Center at Stanislaus State. Hosted by the Student Center, who worked closely with Stan State Associated Students Inc. (ASI), the event provided a host of activities and giveaways for students to mark the special occasion.
Organizers saw the festivities as a way to celebrate the return to campus for students after two years of COVID-19 restrictions.
“This year I am very excited about students coming back to campus and finally meeting some of the board of directors that serve us students,” said Student Government Student Coordinator, Irlanda Vela.
Angie Maghinay, Board of Director for Housing & Student Life, was excited for the opportunity for student engagement now that in-person classes have resumed.
“I’m just super excited to see students back on campus as well and to see student engagement back up,” she said.
Students who participated in the birthday bash activities received a tote bag and gifts from six stations throughout the Student Center, including the ASI & Student Center offices, the Student Center Service Desk, the Student Bookstore, Career & Professional Development Center and conference rooms. Each stop featured spin and win prize opportunities or other activities as well.
All participants who completed the tasks were able to enter a grand prize drawing and received a voucher for a free slice of pizza from Warrior Grill, which will officially re-open on Monday, March 7.
