Shake Smart at Stanislaus State is set to open in the fall after being closed for almost two years. Shake Smart’s menu offers all-natural smoothies, breakfast, wraps, snacks and coffee. A dense menu will offer plenty of options to students and faculty. Their initiative is to provide health options and increase health awareness. Most of the signature items will be available in gluten-free and lactose-free ingredients.
There were not many food options to choose from at the beginning of the academic year, but with the opening of the Warrior Grill, followed by Redwave, The Market, and now Shake Smart reopening by the fall 2022 semester, the University Student Center has seen rejuvenated crowds.
Shake Smart would add more variety to food choices and allow students to stay on campus in between classes.
Annie Baker-Bauer (senior, English) was looking for alternative options offered by the Warrior Grill and Starbucks.
“I’m pretty excited because I do not always want a Starbucks. I’d definitely be in the mood for a smoothie,” Baker-Bauer said.
April Gomez is currently a cashier but will be a future supervisor for Shark Smart. She mentioned that there will be no online ordering platform, like Boost, available. Boost is an application that users can download to order from various food services on campus. They can select from the available menu, pay, and pick up when it is ready. Many students like Sumpreet Kaur (senior, English) expressed how others can utilize an online ordering system.
“A lot of students are on-the-go, from class to class. If they could have the option to order online, it would be more convenient for them,” Kaur explained.
The various menu combinations would allow customers to customize their drinks based on the variety of preferences they offer. Shake Mart claims that their own quick reordering system would streamline the process.
