On Thursday November 14, Stan State’s Black student Union (BSU) will be hosting their 4th annual Open Mic Night.
The event will be held in the Faculty Development Center (FDC) room 118 and will start at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the entire Stan State Community. The theme this year is Madrigals.
Those students who wish to perform can do so by one of three ways: emailing the BSU for a sign-up link, clicking the link in the BSU Instagram bio and/or by signing up at the BSU table on Wednesdays out in the quad. The last day to sign up is Tuesday November 12.
“This is one of our bigger events in the fall semester so if you really have something to share with your peers, this would be a good opportunity to do so….If you sing, dance, do improptu, stand ups, play an instrument or you have a certain art you want to display, you can do that to,” said Christen Wynee (senior, Communications) and BSU’s President.
The BSU’s Open Mic Night is an event where the Campus Community can come together and support one another and have something fun to do on campus.
For some, this is an opportunity to prepare for situations where you may have to perform or present in front of an audience, be on a stage, and even talk through a microphone. If you have a talent that you are considering pursuing this event is a great way to do that and really put yourself out there.
