Throughout this school year, Chartwells Dining Services has made various changes to please the students of California State University, Stanislaus (Stan State).
This year, Stan State brought in a new Director of Chartwells, Bradley Robertson, to implement positive changes within the campus’ dining services.
A few of these positive changes that Robertson has made consist of new block-payment options, new healthier options and breakfast served all day until lunch time ends at 2:30 p.m.
Aylin García (freshman, Psychology) and Allie Rodríguez (freshman, Economics) gave their opinions about the new all-day breakfast.
“I really like the new and improved breakfast burritos they are starting to serve,” García said.
“They do have a lot of breakfast options, but I do prefer going to MSR’s Starbucks because it’s fast,” Rodríguez said. “I can easily get a drink and a pastry and eat it on my way to class.”
At the Starbucks located within the Mary Stuart Rogers Building (MSR), Robertson implemented a new block-payment option which consists of a coffee drink, one fruit and one pastry, worth one block. This options gives students the flexibility to use their blocks in more places around campus.
Lucero Ambriz (sophomore, Nursing) and Sintia Godinez (sophomore, Kinesiology) also expressed their thoughts on the new breakfast and block options that Robertson introduced this year.
“My favorite station during breakfast hours is the new yogurt parfait station because it gives me many choices to customize a perfect, delicious parfait with healthier options provided,” Ambriz said. “I also think it was a good idea that the new Chartwells director gave students more block options for sushi and Starbucks.”
“I like the fact that breakfast hours got extended because I used to not have enough time to get breakfast, but now I get out of class and can easily still catch breakfast,” Godinez said. “The new parfait station was a good idea to add because it is a good source of protein and it gives me a lot of options that make my parfait the way I like it, and it’s fresh.”
Chartwells has extended their breakfast hours from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and has added the following stations: bagel station, infused water station, yogurt parfait station, and their new breakfast tacos. Their breakfast tacos are a taco version of a breakfast burrito, just this one contains more of the ingredients and less tortilla.
