It is pumpkin season! Local family farms in the Central Valley have organized their pumpkin patches with unique decorations and attractions to give the community opportunities to celebrate fall festivities.
Hunter Family Farms is located in Atwater, California. They provide a wide variety of attractions to ride in such as tractor rides, slides, go-karts, ziplines and pig races. There are plenty of refreshing drinks and food to eat. Hunter Family Farms has plenty of spots to take family photos. People can pick out their favorite pumpkins and flowers before they leave. Samantha is a staff member at Hunter Family Farms and loves interacting with their visitors. She shares, “My favorite thing about the pumpkin patch will probably be the fields and then sales right behind me. And I get to interact with the kids and parents and everything.”
Resendiz Family Fruit Barn is close to CSU Stanislaus, located in Hughson, California. This farm provides a mini hay maze with organized rows of pumpkins. This location includes a relaxing pond, play structures, and a petting zoo. The Resendiz Family Fruit Barn is also a bakery that sells plenty of delicious fruits, snacks, and pastries to the customers. Anna, the assistant manager at Resendiz Family Fruit Barn, invites the community to attend their pumpkin patch, saying, “I definitely recommend you to come, not only because the pumpkin patch is very neat and it’s fun to be around. We have our park, which also has a really nice scenery. And we have tons of drinks.”
Rodin Farms is located in Modesto, California. This farm displays their seasonal nuts, honey, fruits, candy, and vegetables. This pumpkin patch provides a wide range of pumpkins, from big to small sizes, to orange to colorful. Rodin Farms has mini games for the children, and spots for families to take photos together. Jana is a staff member who works at Rodin Farms and her favorite thing about their pumpkin patch is the variety of pumpkins and games they have to offer. She says, “I recommend it because on the weekends we have crafts for the kids and everything so we have a lot to offer during the weekend. During the week we have a lot of pumpkins to choose from so I would recommend it.”
