The CSU Stanislaus CalFresh Basic Needs and Warrior Food Pantry hosted the Chopped Challenge during the Campus Cares Fair. The live cooking competition, held on the campus Quad, challenged contestants to create dishes using ingredients from the Warrior Food Pantry with just 25 minutes to prepare. Judges evaluated each dish based on creativity, taste, and presentation.
Alexa Aguirre Sanchez, Basic Needs Cal Fresh Coordinator, explained the idea for the competition was for students to learn how to use items from the pantry and get creative.
“We hope that our students will utilize our resources, and come to the The Warrior Food Pantry, our Clothing Closet and everything Basic Needs has to offer,” she said.
The event aimed to inspire the campus community to have fun in the kitchen and make use of available campus resources.
