CSU Stanislaus is working to strengthen campus engagement by keeping students updated on events through social media, email, and other tools. Regular updates help students feel a sense of belonging and support a positive school culture.
Students receive event information mainly through email, Instagram, Campus Groups and Warrior Life apps. Social media is the most popular platform, with clubs and organizations encouraging students to follow their accounts for updates. Events like Warrior Wednesday in the quad showcase campus life each week.
Dominic Guzman (Freshman, Business) shared how he stays updated on campus events.
“I typically always check Outlook because I get a lot of emails about upcoming events happening on campus or my friends will tell me about any events they see on Instagram, so we can all go,” he said.
Outlook is one of several ways students stay informed, with many receiving one or two emails from Student Affairs about campus events such as Spirit Week and Commencement.

Guzman also mentioned using social media to stay updated.
“Occasionally I’ll use the app Campus Groups, which shows all club postings and upcoming meetings. It’s pretty cool,” he said.
Graduate kinesiology student Valerie Torres shared her preferred method for finding out about events.
“Instagram, because who isn’t on Instagram? Unless you have TikTok,” she said.

Social media is the most popular way to inform students about and promote campus events. Most clubs and organizations have their own social media accounts and encourage members to follow them to stay updated.
Gabriel Jimenez, a communications specialist from Student Affairs, discussed the social media platforms the university uses to keep students informed.
“Most of our campus community loves to use Instagram to promote their content, so I always encourage students to follow different departments there,” he said. “There are many accounts to follow, but off the top of my head, I suggest following our own @stanstatesa page and checking out the list of campus accounts we follow.”
Jimenez also highlighted the Campus Groups app and Warrior Life as tools for staying informed. He recommended using Warrior Life to find organizations and clubs that match student interests and said Campus Groups is a helpful resource for keeping up with most campus events.
Flor Neri, an ASI Marketing Assistant, explained that to promote events hosted by ASI and SC, they regularly post on social media and run campaigns for larger events to build excitement and keep students informed.

Neri also noted that, in addition to social media, they use printed materials around campus to promote events. These include table tents in Warrior Grill and A-frames placed throughout campus.
When asked which platform gets the most engagement, Neri said that the ASI and SC instagram page leads, thanks to its large following.
“On Instagram, people engage with Reels and stories. Through live posts at events, students see the excitement and interact through likes, responses, and shares.” she said.
Neri added that recent events have seen great attendance, with students staying connected and keeping track of campus happenings.
Jimenez also highlighted events to look forward to in the Spring Semester.
“Warrior Day is a fun event that I used to look forward to every year when I was a student, so I am excited to see the campus transform into a fun festival for a day again,” he said. “I am also looking forward to Commencement. We are planning incredible ceremonies for all of our graduating students this year.”
