On May 6, the Blue Owl Event will take place in the Main Dining Hall of California State University, Stanislaus. Poets, musicians and artists will gather in one room to interact with the community.
This event will be held between 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and admission is free. Food will also be provided by organizations supporting community arts.
Students, teachers and community members are all encouraged to come and participate.
“The general idea is that we want to gather musicians, poets, and fine artists all together in a single room,” said Trevor Cook (senior, Communication Studies). “We want guests to walk around and interact with these artists.”
The musicians will be performing, the poets speaking and the artists actually creating during the event.
The goal is to showcase local artists and offer the opportunity for guests to interact with community members and share their work with others.
Local musician Logan Moore and mixed-media artist Diana Isho are two participants that will be performing.
“What we want the general public to know is that there are local people here who are very creative, you don’t always need to go to the internet or radio to find awesome music or art,” Cook said.
“We have it right here in Turlock.”
