In a higher education system, California State University, Stanislaus does not stand short of honors. CSU Stanislaus is highlighted by multiple institutions for its affordability, class size and military friendliness.
US News, Victory Media Incorporated and Affordable Colleges Online are among the institutions that recognized CSU Stanislaus for specific honors.
CSU Stanislaus is recognized for the 18th successive time by U.S. News which is known for its “Best of” guides with lists and rankings of colleges and universities.
CSU Stanislaus placed 57th in the west ranking charts for Regional Universities by U.S. News. This category considers western colleges of the U.S. that offer a wide range of undergraduate studies, select masters’ studies and doctoral studies.
The campus was highlighted for class size, student faculty ratio, acceptance rate and graduate rate. The site also recognized the universities’ “small-town atmosphere, clean living space, and low crime rate.”
According to US News, “The campus itself is a beautiful, park-like setting in an environment conducive to learning. The picturesque campus offers moments of peace and relaxation to busy students, faculty, staff and the community to actively participate in the learning-centered activities sponsored by the campus.”
CSU Stanislaus beat out multiple CSU’s for this category. CSU Northridge ranked 60. CSU Channel Islands, CSU Monterey Bay and CSU Sacramento tied in rank for 66, and CSU San Marcos ranked 70.
U.S. News also ranked CSU Stanislaus 17th in the Top Public Schools category.
CSU Stanislaus was also recently distinguished by Affordable Colleges Online, a website that educates students regarding options for obtaining a degree and more engrossly on how to pay for it.
Affordable Colleges Online released a ranking list called the “Obama Scorecard: Top Colleges for Value and Affordability” based on what the publishers predict the Obama Administration score card ranking will look like.
Affordable Colleges Online ranked CSU Stanislaus number 64 on their Obama Scorecard list.
CSU Stanislaus was also named a Military Friendly School for the third year in a row by Victory Media Incorporated, one of the leading media groups for military personnel transitioning into civilian life. This recognition for military friendliness is given to the top 20 percent of selected higher education institutions in the U.S. These colleges work with military service members, veterans and spouses and help them reach success in their college career.
The CSU Stanislaus campus has increased its services to veterans in numerous ways over the past three years. A Student Veteran Center was opened on campus as well as a Student Veterans Club. The campus also provides a Veteran New Student Orientation in which a veteran advisor assists them with classes and schooling.
The CSU Stanislaus campus also tries to reach to outside agencies to get important and helpful information for veteran students, and puts on a veteran commencement ceremony each May and a “Thank a Veteran” event each November.
