Great news basketball fans: The wait is finally over. The National Basketball Association season is here with new faces, different starting lineups and the same, fierce competition that the fans enjoy watching.
The Miami Heat are considered the favorite again to win the title, which would give them a three-peat. It’s not hard to favor them since the Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh and Ray Allen combination is probably the most dominant offense in all of basketball.
The new-look Brooklyn Nets are definitely a team to look out for. They acquired Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Jason Terry from the Boston Celtics in a trade during the offseason and became instant contenders overnight. The Nets fell short last season in the first round of the playoffs losing to the Chicago Bulls.
Another headline this season is the return of Derrick Rose for the Bulls, who missed all of last season with an anterior cruciate ligament tear. The former MVP is back on the court and has impressed many with his play during the preseason.
The Golden State Warriors are coming off an incredible playoff run that ended in the Conference Semifinals last season after losing to the San Antonio Spurs. The Warriors brought in Andre Iguodala to help the offense along with star players Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.
After dealing with a possible location change this year, the Sacramento Kings are here to stay and have rebuilt their team for the better. Maybe their new team identity was partially influenced by new minority owner Shaquille O’Neal.
It’s a toss-up with predicting who will win it all, but one thing for sure is that there is plenty of great basketball coming our way.
