The Warriors volleyball team went on the road this past weekend, losing to both Sonoma State and San Francisco State.
On Friday the Warriors ran into the 13th ranked Sonoma State Seawolves, who defeated the Warriors in straight sets. The Warriors struggled in all three sets, dropping their season record to 4-10.
The Warriors had a balanced offense with Blair Ehrlich, Taylor Massengale, Paige Walker and Christianna Knutson each chipping in 5 kills.
Then on Saturday, the Warriors lost in four sets to the Gators of San Francisco State. Leading the way for the Warriors was Blair Ehrlich with 9 kills. Sarah Crowl had a game high 26 digs while Hannah Green had 27 assist.
The Warriors return to Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena on Thursday night as they face Cal State LA followed by a showdown with Cal State Dominguez Hill on Friday.
Weekly Soccer
The Warriors just keep rolling along. Karenee Demery and the Warrior’s soccer team improved to 9-0-1 after mirrored 4-1 victories over UC San Diego and Cal Poly Pomona. The Warriors dangerous offense has outscored their opponents 34-7 this season and three time All American, Demery continues to lead the way with 12 goals on the season. The Warriors also increased there standing in the NCAA by moving from No.11 to No. 9.
The Warriors’ struggles against UC San Diego continued as they were shutout 2-0 by the No. 10 ranked Tritons. The team was able to get back on the right track when they downed Cal Poly Pomona 2-1 on Sunday.
Goalkeeper Clint Long continues to have a great season for the Warriors and Sunday was no different, Long tallied 7 saves and kept the Warriors ahead throughout. The goalkeeper nearly had a shutout but allowed a goal in the 87 minute.
The Warriors continued their streak of losing on Fridays and winning on Sundays with this week’s 1-1 record as well.
Warrior’s Soccer begins a long roadtrip this week as both teams face Cal State Domingues Hills (Oct. 11) and Cal State L.A (Oct. 13).
