Halloween is fast approaching, but before you start pre-gaming for another Halloween celebration at the nightclub that leaves you looking for your tutu while attempting to wash the vomit out of your hair, you might want to look into the Ghoulish Gala 2013.
Caleb Monticalvo (senior, Business) and Jessica Counts (alumna) have put together a Halloween event that just might be the largest celebration Turlock has seen since the County Fair.
Monticalvo and Counts applied principles from their coursework at California State University, Stanislaus to launch an entrepreneurial cannonball.
“In traditional internship opportunities the decisions I would be able to make would have minimal impact on the company as a whole,” Monticalvo said.
“I wanted to make these crucial business-type decisions. Fail or succeed, I cannot put a value on what I have learned through this process.”
The goal was to have a party atmosphere specifically tailored to the 18+ crowd that doesn’t depend on alcohol consumption as the main attraction, but instead provides a safe and unforgettable time via actual activities.
The Gala itself opens for business on Oct. 19 from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m., which leaves plenty of other nights open for Halloween cocktails. The venue for the event is our very own Stanislaus County Fairgrounds.
The Gala promises to provide a thrilling time with two stages, multiple DJs, costume contests, food vendors and a professional haunted house provided by DeathWorkz. Ticket prices are $15 with a costume, $20 without. However, ladies can get their tickets for half-price if they show up before 9 p.m. Hookahs, palm readings and a costume contest will also be available for the entertainment of the crowd.
Featured vendors for the event include XHale Premium Hookah, Viva Taco Bus, Dale’s Kettle Corn & Lemonade and DeathWorkz Haunts. The haunted house will accept visitors to its featured event, “Welcome to the Crate,” beginning at 7 p.m. – food vendors and hookahs will be open for business at 8 p.m.
More information can be found on the team’s website, impulseevents.webstarts.com, and RSVPs to the event can be submitted on the Facebook event page, facebook.com/events/565056426870854.
