If you build it, they will come. R.A.M. Farms, Inc., owned by Ron and Karen Macedo, is proud to offer “Fields of Ice” to the public this coming winter.
You may be familiar with R.A.M. Farms, located on 716 N. Daubenberger Road, because of their seasonal pumpkin patch and corn maze.
“I grew up in Turlock and am a California State University, Stanislaus Alumni,” Karen Macedo said. “We wanted to offer something fun and new to the community this holiday season.”
And make sure you sharpen your skates, because R.A.M. Farms’ fun, new holiday plans are for a lighted 60-foot by 80-foot ice skating rink.
“I’m from L.A. where it’s hot year round, so we never really have a winter holiday atmosphere,” Cassidy Duke (freshman, Kinesiology) said.
“I’m really excited about checking this place out.”
Fields of Ice is sure to bring Turlock a winter wonderland at last, with seasonal music, bonfires and a licensed food vendor offering snack-bar style food and hot chocolate.
California State University, Stanislaus students will receive a discount, but must bring their university ID card. Groups of 25 or more will receive a group rate discount.
Fields of Ice will be sitting on 22 acres, accompanied by a Christmas Tree lot that will feature rare and high-quality Noble Fir, Douglas Fir, Nordmann Fir and Grand Fir.
Fields of Ice will open the day after Thanksgiving, Nov. 29, 2013, and will run through the New Year, Jan. 12, 2014. The hours are noon to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends.
