The Warrior baseball team took both games this past weekend against the Academy of Arts, improving their record to 10-18 overall.
In the first game, the Warriors shutout the Academy of Arts behind the pitching of freshman Nick Ippolito and junior Dustin Baisdon. The tandem surrendered only 7 hits over 9 innings, collecting 5 strikeouts. The Warriors didn’t need much offense, the sac-fly by senior Matt Chaidez in the first inning was all they needed.
In the second contest of the weekend, the offense led the way, ending with junior Skippy Ferreria’s walk-off single in the tenth.
Throughout the game, six different Warriors collected RBI’s, as Stanislaus trailed five different times in the game. In the end, Ferreria’s RBI earned their second straight win.
