The school newspaper, The Signal, placed eighth nationally at the 93rd Annual ACP/CMA National College Media Convention in Philadelphia, PA last weekend.
The convention offered over 325 sessions to more than 2,000 student journalists from across the country.
The ‘Best of Show’ awards are categorized by the type and size of the college, the printing frequency and size of the newspaper.
The Signal’s bi-weekly print edition was placed in the category of “four-year, non-weekly newspaper.”
This is The Signal’s third national ranking in two years.
Previously, the paper placed sixth place as a four-year weekly newspaper at the Associate Collegiate Press National College Journalism Convention in March 2013 and fifth place as a four-year weekly newspaper at the 92nd Annual ACP/CMA National College Media Convention.
