As Stanislaus State approaches the end of the spring semester of 2022, commencement is inching its way closer to honoring our graduates. The Stan State’s Commencement page offers a host of information regarding the ceremonies. This page includes information on forms, updated COVID-19 safety protocols, registration and much more.
On Thursday, May 26, Stan State will be holding ceremonies for the College of the Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences department at 8:00 a.m. and for the College of Business Administration department at 4:00 p.m. Then on Friday, May 27, ceremonies will be held for the College of Science department at 8:00 a.m. and the College of Education, Kinesiology, & Special Work department at 4:00 p.m.
However, if you are eligible for graduation, you must register yourself and up to five guests on the WarriorLife platform by April 15 by no later than 5:00 p.m. In order to be eligible, graduates must submit an application for graduation before April 15, be a student of an eligible graduating term (Fall 2021, Spring 2022 and Summer 2022), and then register for their ceremony on WarriorLife once they receive an email invitation.
In terms of what to expect this year, Stanislaus State’s Commencement page states, “This year’s ceremonies will allow graduates to: walk across the stage and register up to five guests. All attendees will be expected to: be registered to attend, maintain a physical distance from surrounding groups, and remain seated with their graduate for the ceremony.”
Lastly, the page states that attendees should bring a surgical, KN95, N95 or KN94 face covering and wear it when indoors. This is a change in language as campus messages stated specifically that surgical masks were required.
Another recent update in COVID-19 safety protocols for Stan State’s commencement states that a roof of COVID-19 vaccination and COVID-19 testing are no longer required to attend the event.
In terms of regalia, honor cords will be mailed to graduates using the mailing address listed on their MyStanState portals. If a student is interested in purchasing regalia for this event, they are able to do so online.
Students will also have the opportunity to attend Virtual Rehearsals, which will be held on Zoom on May 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., May 12 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. and May 18 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Stan State highly encourages graduates to register and attend for a general overview of the procedures for the upcoming ceremonies.
