The CSU Stanislaus volleyball team travelled to San Marcos for the CCAA Conference Tournament earlier this month. The women finished sixth in conference, ending the season with an overall record of 19-10 and had one of the best seasons in Stan State volleyball history. They finished in sixth place, with a 10-8 record in conference which allowed the Warriors to extend their season.
During the trip, the team experienced many of the things, planned and unplanned, that go into a road trip, including driving detours and intense laser tag, making it a very memorable trip and a first for most of the team. This season constituted of breaking records and making history so although the end result wasn’t what they wanted, the team is very proud of each other and agree that this was a favorite season for all.
Ellison Weaver (sophomore, Psychology), reflected on the hard work the team put in to get to the tournament.
“I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to be here together with the team,” said Weaver. “All the hard work we’ve been putting in throughout the whole season is finally going to get paid off today.”
Senior Natasha Mich (senior, Exercise Science) said she was so proud fo her team and everything they accomplished.
“As a senior, I’m so excited to spend my last year here at the CCAA championship tournament,” she said.
Gabby Rosen (junior, Communication Studies) said she considers this one of her favorite college volleyball seasons.
“Mainly because of the girls and how enthusiastic they are to win and make each other better every day,” she said.
Now that the 2022 season has ended, the Warriors look forward to working hard this spring to be ready for next season.
