Warrior Athletics Shows Love to Turlock Community

On April 27, the student athletes of CSU Stanislaus along with the Athletics staff had the opportunity to assist the community in Love Turlock.

The group gathered at Donnelly Park for breakfast, lively music, a performance from the Stan State cheer team and a warm welcome from the Love Turlock staff before heading off to their project.

The teams of men’s basketball, men’s soccer, and women’s volleyball volunteered their time to help tidy up a yard at a local house.

Lots of joy was spread throughout the day as the athletes enjoyed serving the city of Turlock.

Daniel Ameyaw (sophomore, Liberal Studies) spent his Saturday morning mowing the lawn, moving trash and rearranging outdoor decor to tie everything together.

“I love helping people so going out there to make an impact in the community I live in was great,” he says.

The student athletes and staff have volunteered for the past couple of years and plan to make it a tradition in the future.
