Meet the Stan State Lecturer Who Teaches Art to Inmates

Video By Marcos Zaragoza and Jade Ramirez

Chad Hunter is a graphic design lecturer here at CSU Stanislaus. He is also currently a candidate running for the position of Assistant Professor of Digital Art for the upcoming Fall 2024 semester.

As he awaits the decision, Chad shares with us who he really is as a teacher and as an artist. In our sit down interview, he tells us his first inspirations that drew him into the world of art and what steps he has taken to form his career.
In addition to his time spent on campus, Chad also owns and operates his own Chad Hunter Studios and We Heart Art Academy, where they teach art to inmates in local prisons.
Altogether, Chad Hunter is dedicated to every segment of his work and aims to share the power of art with others as best he can. The main takeaway Chad emphasizes is for everyone to be confident and value themselves and their work.
