Ryan Leonesio sealed the night with the game-winning home run. But none of it would have been possible without Jacob Baker being hit by a pitch.
Sunday’s rainy afternoon game came after adjusted game times, due to weather. While the Otters lead the series this past weekend, the warriors battled back with an exciting night game.
At the end of the first game on Sunday, the Warriors battled back and added three runs to the score, making it a final of 5-12 and the Otters winning the game.
The last game of the day started with great momentum where, at the end of the first inning, the score was held to an even 0-0.
The excitement and thrills of the series came in the second inning. The Warriors had five runs, taking the lead early. All with a team effort that started with Tyler Van Dyke that led to adding to the bases and ending the second inning with a score of 5-0.
The crowd was alive and ready when there were multiple popped catches from the Otters in the second inning that led to the Warriors nighttime win.
Maintaining charisma, Warrior fans stuck it out through the wind and rain, keeping up the momentum. Cheering on players at bat, umbrellas kept the Warriors dry.
The dugout was no different, players were animated and motivated to keep the game on their side.
In the sixth inning, Monterey Bay earned two runs, making the score 6-3. This led to the seventh inning.
The otters tied the game and with an error on their side, were able to win the game with the final score of 7-6.
