This week’s Warrior Spotlight is on Briana Cotton, (senior, Kinesiology) number 12 on the women’s basketball team shoots for the last time here at California State University, Stanislaus. She ended her season strong on Feb. 28 with 14 points in the 82-46 win over California State University, Monterey Bay Feb.
Cotton was a four-year starter and led the team in three-pointers during the past two seasons (2012-14). She played every game with passion and always tried her best to stay on top of her game.
“I just left it all on the court,” Cotton said.
Her favorite memories do not stem from the wins or losses.
“Our record doesn’t necessarily show how hard we worked,” Cotton said. “But all of the memories we shared on road trips, the hotel rooms, all of our jokes. It’s just been really fun and that’s something I’m going to take with me.”
Cotton hopes to continue on the court after she graduates, but not as a player.
“I’m going into coaching,” Cotton said. “I’ll always be around basketball”
