For those looking to jump start their careers, two local career fairs will be held in the month of March. California State University, Stanislaus is holding their annual Career Fair on Wednesday, March 11. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Event Center.
The Career Fair is an opportunity for CSU Stanislaus students and alumni, as well as students and alumni from other CSU campuses, to meet local and regional employers offering career opportunities.
Information about summer jobs and internships will also be available. Participants in the 2014 Career Fair included E & J Gallo Winery, Hilmar Cheese Company, Inc., Wells Fargo and other companies looking to connect with and recruit current college students. It is recommended that students bring their resume and dress professionally. Admission is free.
The second career fair happening in March is the Modesto HIREvent which will be held on Tuesday, March 10 at the Clarion Inn Conference Center, which is located at 1612 Sisk Road in Modesto. HIREvents, which is a division of Job Journal, has been holding job fairs for Northern California since 1992.
Companies at past events have included those from the retail and restaurant industries, school districts and federal agencies. The majority of employers at the event will be local companies with immediate openings as well as employers looking to hire part-time, full-time and seasonal employees. It is advised that job-seekers arrive to the event early and dress to impress. Free resume reviews from industry experts will also be available, and admission to this event is free as well.
