Bright smiles filled Turlock’s Columbia park this past Sunday as the gentlemen of Nu Alpha Kappa Fraternity Inc, Delta Chapter hosted their eight annual NAKland Carnival this past Sunday.
NAKland and the Bone Marrow association are national philanthropies for NAK. Delta Chapter also works with their Homeless Awareness philanthropy to offer information and support to the local community. The gentlemen prepare to provide families a thrilling event free of charge by conducting fundraisers and events along the year.
Stanislaus families and community members were offered a day filled with engaging educational activities, live entertainment, food and hair cuts free of charge.
Children were offered the opportunity to engage in educational activities, win prizes and the opportunity to interact with other community members.
“It is super fun for the kids, they are enjoying it, ” community member Amanda Wammock said.
Local Stanislaus county agencies were present during the event, they offered families information regarding the support they provide.
“We are here informing families and accepting applications for the Head Start Program,” Veronica Mercado said.
Nu Alpha Kappa’s Delta Chapter, at CSU Stanislaus hosts NAKland annually to serve under privileged families. NAK will continue to hosts their annual NAKland Carnival with the aim to enlarge the event with the increase of attendance and participation of community members also seeking to serve Stanislaus county families.
“It was a great day, many Greek organizations and Stanislaus county agencies contributed to the success of the event,” Upcoming Delta Chapter President for the 2015-2016 term Elio Lepez said. “I want to thank everyone who attended NAKland 2015, Greek organizations for their assistance and City Council member Matthew Jacobs for his presence.”
NAKland aims to serve families and foster the relationship with local community members and the supportive Greek organizations who aim to the success of the event.
“It was a pleasure once again to serve the families of the Stanislaus county at our Eight Annual NAKland Carnival,” Delta Chapter Jose Diaz said.
