In their first conference game of the year, the California State University, Stanislaus (Stan State) women’s soccer team was unable to score against San Francisco State in a back-and-forth battle.
Luckily the Warriors were able to defensively ward off the Gators to end the game in a scoreless tie.
Chelsea Lewandowski (senior, psychology) had an amazing four saves in the game to put the Warriors at 4-1-1 overall this season and 0-0-1 in CCAA play. The Warriors have not been held scoreless since their very first game of the season. Since then, and excluding this game, they have scored four goals per game. It is safe to say that these girls are on fire and are a force to be reckoned with this season.
The men’s soccer team extended their win streak to six games on Friday vs. San Francisco State. This has been one the greatest starts for men’s soccer in Stan State history. This sixth win also marks their first CCAA win as well. The men now have a 6-0-0 record overall, and 1-0-0 in conference play. Both goals on Friday came before halftime. Daniel Kuczynski (senior, psychology) scored the first goal in the eleventh minute and the second goal came from Jose Ramirez (senior, kinesiology) in twenty-second minute.
