Like every September, there comes a time when change is necessary, new school year, new classes, and a new iPhone. On Sep. 9, Apple unveiled their newest version of the iPhone 6 adding an “S” at the end, a few upgrades and a new rose-gold finish.
The new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus will feature an upgraded 12-megapixel camera in lieu of its previous eight. Apple has also unveiled its new feature capability called 3D touch. This is a pressure-sensitive tactile feedback feature that allows users to summon menus, activate shortcuts or get a glimpse of hidden content, depending on the amount of pressure you apply against the screen.
Another upgrade that Apple has added is the “Live Photo” feature. This feature allows the camera to take rapid-fire photos before and after the actual photo in order to give users the ability to create GIF-like animations that bring pictures to life.
The new iPhone 6S costs $200, and the iPhone 6S Plus model costs $300, upon new contract agreements. With these new arrivals set to hit the market Sep. 25, the older versions of the iPhone 6 will be marked down to $100.
The iPhone 6S and 6S Plus were not the only things new to Apple during their annual unveiling at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. The company has also introduced its own payment plan which will give consumers an opportunity to upgrade their phones every year as long as they are purchased through Apple for $32 a month.
Orders for the new iPhone models are now available for pre-order.
