HAYWARD – California State University, Stanislaus’ softball team could not strike back against California State University, East Bay in their doubleheader on Saturday. The Warriors lost both of their games, 10-1 and 2-1.
In Game 1, the Warriors ended up falling to East Bay 10-1 in just five innings, while in the nightcap they lost 2-1 in seven innings.
Second baseman Sarah Locarnini went 3 for 3 with one run for Stanislaus, but that did not compete with the power on the side of the Pioneers. East Bay scored five runs in the first inning which sent them well on their way to their five inning game win.
In Game 2, left fielder Lauren Liming went 1 for 2 with one run for Stanislaus while Katelyn Johnson went 2 for 2 with one RBI. Natalie Rendon took the loss for Stanislaus in the second game, while Brittani Weatherford took the loss in the first game.
These games were moved from Friday to Saturday play due to weather issues. Stanislaus continues the series with two games scheduled for Sunday.
