Spring cleaning is here again. This semester, students at California State University, Stanislaus have a chance to give back to the community by donating things they don’t need to the Hunger Network for their Spring Cleaning Drive happening March 21-28.
The Hunger Network is dedicated to providing service to the community through works like feeding the homeless. This event is just one way they try to reach out to the community and provide help. The collection will go to benefit the United Samaritans Foundation and provides the opportunity to both clean up and support those less fortunate. 
“I think it really helps the community, and it’s really oriented to helping through anything you might not need yourself,” Jennifer Cormier (sophomore, Undeclared) said. 
Students are encouraged to bring clothes, blankets and anything else they might not need, but that can still be put to good use. This includes household items like old lamps, clocks and such. 
“Anything at all is helpful,” Mai Vang (sophomore, Pre-Nursing) said. “Those things can really go a long way.”
Students will see boxes into which they can drop off donations assembled all around campus in different buildings. Individuals can take this opportunity to clean out their garage, their room or their closet, and at the same time provide a real service to people who need it. 
“I’m glad to be a part of a club whose basis is helping others,” new member Beni Romero (junior, Sociology) said. 
So Warriors, take to those messy rooms and cramped closets with a generous heart and think of others before dumping out something that could help someone in need.
