On April 16, the California State University, Stanislaus Game Room buzzed with anticipation for its monthly tournament featuring “Super Smash Brothers Brawl.”
Eighteen students participated in the one-on-one tournament. Everyone who attended enjoyed free pizza, beverages and gaming during the duration of the tournament.
“I usually do the fighting game tournaments. It’s good. There’s a decent show-up and of course free food,” said Seth Foulks, a participant at the event.
Matches were played two at a time and made best out of three. All match-ups were on the stage Final Destination and items were set to off. Meta Knight was banned for the tournament.
Ramseen Youkhana received first prize, a $50 gift card to Gamestop, for his second SSBB tournament win. Second and third chose from a selection of gift cards to local eateries.
Feel free to show up to next month’s billiards tournament. There is small fee to sign up and spectators are always welcome.
