Join California State University, Stanislaus’ radio station KCSS as they team up to celebrate the re-launch of local record label Quote Your Pulse. To celebrate, Quote Your Pulse has picked five local bands to feature a free show to the public. The event kicks off at 9:00 p.m. on Mar. 3 at the Grizzly Rock Cafe and is open to all ages.
“This is the perfect show for students to attend because it features local talent from all over the Central Valley,” Jonathan Jennings said, owner of Quote Your Pulse.
The concert will feature a number of bands, including Every Atlas, Maggie Watkins, The Great West End, Word of Man, and Scott Patrick Little. Each band brings a different musical genre to the show, such as indie, rock, country, punk, and folk.
“This event is a way for students to get involved with local bands and support local music,” Kevin Skerba said, KCSS station manager.
KCSS will be at the event to show support as a local outlet and create a bond with the label.
“We (KCSS) can get their artists and albums on the air to promote their music and essentially help them move along with their careers,” Skerba said .
The station will also have a booth set-up with shirts and hoodies for sale along with free stickers.
Quote Your Pulse originally launched in 2009 as an independent record label. Since then, they have released more than twenty-five albums of various music genres. The re-launch of the label provides an opportunity for locals to have an outlet to promote and sell their music.
“With this new version of Quote Your Pulse, we hope to continue to push our message of ‘staying true to yourself’ to the masses,” Jennings said.
The label’s new winter clothing collection will also be available for the first time at the event.
“This show truly is the best that the Central Valley has to offer for the college crowd,” Jennings said. “We hope to see everybody there!”
“Quote Your Pulse Night” will begin at 9:00 p.m. at the Grizzly Rock Café located at 4905 Golden State Boulevard in Turlock.
