LOS ANGELES- The California State University Stanislaus, Warriors did not let the California State University, Los Angeles Golden Eagles come back in the second half of the game Saturday as they won 66-62.
The Warriors had let opposing teams’ comeback in the second half too many times this season, including Friday night.
When asked what made a difference in Saturday’s game, Frank Monge said, “Coach knew we weren’t playing up to our potential, we finally woke up and pulled out at the end together as a team.”
Reggie Jones put up 20 points and 9 rebounds while Ronnie Sawyer knocked in 19 points and grabbed 8 rebounds for Stanislaus. Donald Gaines also scored 14 points off the bench.
The Warriors are now 14-10 overall and 10-10 in conference play with 2 regular season games left. Stanislaus holds a two game lead over California State University, East Bay for the final conference tournament berth and will host them Thursday for Homecoming.
