The third annual StanFest is coming to California State University, Stanislaus on Sept. 15 and 22. The festival is a two-part event geared to attract both community members and college students to partake in some F&R–fun and relaxation.
However, a question many students may find themselves asking is, “What is StanFest?” Some students have never attended this event and are curious to learn more. 
“I’ve never been to Stan-fest, but I would like to once I figure out what it’s all about” said Katie Copeland (sophomore, Accounting) .
The first event taking place in the quad area at CSU, Stanislaus is bound to bring excitement. The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m and is available for the whole community. Everything is free–there is free food, free parking and free entertainment. This carnival will be sure to bring family fun to a whole new level. The carnival is going to offer activities and games, such as bounce houses, airbrush tattoos, face painting, games, prizes and much more. 
This year StanFest is trying to get the community more involved with the activities. For example, the game room will be open for kids ages 8-12, and they would be able to play games such as video games, ping pong and pool. Offering these features for the younger kids gives older children a chance for more selection. 
The second event, a welcome back concert, is aimed towards college students. It will include food services, photo booths, tournaments, games and activities. 
“Students can get their tickets for free if they come and pick them up beforehand. But if not, they have to pay $5 at the door, a very minimal price” said Marvin Hooker (junior, Business Administration), the ASI Special Events Coordinator. 
The evening event will undoubtedly advocate student involvement. For instance, the event will showcase student and alumni opening acts, such as DJ UNiQU3 (Ruben Romo) and Amar Bhatia.
This concert will be sure to be a blast in the ears. Spread the word, special guest stars will also make an appearance. 
“Jeremih is coming, for sure,” Hooker said.  
The Warrior Activities Center is making great efforts to attract the college student body to come to StanFest, which is why they are providing this concert.
“I try to find artists that had at least 3 or 4 popular songs, artists the students might recognize. We want  to get them to come to the concert. This year the community event is aimed at younger guests,” Hooker said.
