No Hate Campaign is a unified University message to rally California State University, Stanislaus, (Stan State) community through academic and social justice events.
The overall goal of this campaign is to equip all members of the campus community on ways to manage our reactions towards adverse interactions and diverse communication.
Dr. Rosalee Rush states, “This campaign is designed to provide students, faculty, staff, and administration with information and resources to navigate difficult experiences and harsh words, empowering them to counteract hate speech and rhetoric via courageous conversations”.
Lieutenant Matt Dillion showed that UPD favors the No Hate Campaign.
“UPD strongly supports the No Hate campaign and will include the message and spirit in daily interaction with the campus community. Additionally, we will add a component to our Citizen’s Academy to expand resources, information and education related to the No Hate campaign,” Dillion said.
President Ellen Junn authorized the No Hate Task Force, an extension of the President’s Commission on Diversity and Inclusion (PCDI), to communicate its message and counteract hate speech and rhetoric. This task force is inclusive of approximately 30 representatives including students, alumni, and civic leaders.
“This Task Force will help define and promote campus wide messages and events that support diversity and inclusion” said Dr. Rosalee Rush.
Associated Students Incorporate (ASI) launched “Name our No Hate Campaign” for students to have the opportunity to submit slogan/phrase ideas that reflect and reaffirm our campus diversity. Six finalists were recently selected, and voting ends this Wednesday October 4, at 5pm. The result is now out.
