Hobby Lobby opened its doors to Turlock, CA in September. Located off the freeway on 3801 Countryside Drive, the arts-and-crafts store offers supplies and decor ideas to the community. The store prides itself in bringing exceptional service to their shoppers, so that all their crafting needs are met with ease.
According to the company’s website, Hobby Lobby is one of the largest privately owned arts-and-craft store in the world and operates in 47 states in America. Having 750 stores, the company has provided many communities with genuine customer service, abundance of shopping options and they hold biblical principles that foster their company.
The new Turlock store bears no lower standard, as it is full of supplies and services to fit the community’s needs. Natali Salas (Turlock Hobby Lobby Store Manager) sees Hobby Lobby as an oasis for those wanting to get away from the norms of everyday life.
Not only does the store try to provide a calming experience, but it also offers a place to create new ideas.
“[Walking into Hobby Lobby] is a very pleasant experience, it’s very tranquilizing and calm. Some people spend hours here getting ideas on how to decorate,” Salas said.
The store includes, but is not limit to, items for hobbies, picture framing, items for jewelry making, fabrics, floral and wedding supplies, cards and party ware, home accent decor and holiday merchandise. Salas added that they offer a vast selection of seasonal items and work to have the newest items available.
“Definitely the biggest crafting store there is. You can come in here and decorate your house and do crafting stuff and floral arrangements,” Salas said. “We also have a lot of seasonal decor that you wouldn’t find anywhere else. [This store] offers a lot of jobs in the community. We have custom framing, just a little bit of everything. You can come in here and decorate your house and craft away.”
The Turlock store not only offers a huge selection for crafts and decor, but also service that makes you feel welcomed as you walk through the doors.
We try and stay up with the trends, and we offer great service. You can’t really walk anywhere without seeing an employee greet you and ask you what you’re working on,” Salas said.
Salas stated that Turlock’s Hobby Lobby is set apart from other craft stores due to the “constantly changing” selection of materials offered by the store.
“We strive on having a lot,” Salas said.
The changing and rearranging of item selection is what brought Darci Crooks (Turlock employee) to work for the company.
“I like the environment here and that it has ever changing [selections]. My favorite department is the home decor. There are so many decorations, and it gives me new ideas daily,” Crooks said.
A local shopper, Danielle Marzilli, also appreciates the large selection the store provides.
“My favorite aisle is the paint aisle. I am a crafter and paint directional signs for events such as weddings or for people’s backyards. I have my own online store on Etsy called WoodenKnotDesign. I find myself here a lot to find the right colors for my projects,” Marzilli said.
The Hobby Lobby store is a great spot to get creative and decorate your living space. The Hobby Lobby website also offers great ideas for Do it yourself (D.I.Y.) projects and suggestions on what to shop for.
The Turlock store is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and is closed on Sundays.
