California State University Stanislaus (Stan State) prides itself in having a Student Health Center that is a fully accredited outpatient clinic. It provides primary medical care, health education, wellness promotion, and disease prevention.
Most students who are enrolled in Stan State are automatically eligible for these services.
Our student tuition fees cover these health services and visits to the the Health Center. It’s FREE people!
Although many students and and newcomers typically have a very minimal idea of what the Student Health Center offers, it is very important for these student to know what is at their reach and take advantage of it.
One of these students is Clarissa Medina (freshmen, Undeclared).
“I knew it was there, I just didn’t know it could go”, says Medina.
Yulisma Lomeli (senior, Liberal Studies) says that she has benefited from these services once when she thought she had a cold. After going in and being told she just had allergies, a nurse prescribed her some over the counter (OTC) medication.
“I immediately felt better and paid no taxes for the medication”, says Lomeli.
The Student Health Center offers services for all students such as Sexualy Transmited Infection (STI) testing and Contraception.
Women’s health care offer Pregnancy Tests, Annual Exams (Pap Smear, Clinical breast exam), and services for gynecological problems.
For men, services such as Urinary/Genital exams are also offered.
Had not time to make an appointment? No worries. The following services are available without an appointment. You can get a Tuberculosis (TB) test and read, Flu Shots, Blood Titers, Immunizations, Laboratory Draws, and First-Aid help. These services are Walk-Ins and are welcomed at any time during hours of availability.
Over the years, students like Gethsemani Esparaza (senior, Liberal Studies) got to know about the health center.
“I didn’t know about the services as a freshman, but know that I have visited the Health Center my first that was that, it is like a mini hospital,” says Esparza.
Types of Athletic, Nursing, Travel Academic, Travel Non-Academic, and Employment Physicals are also available with a $15.00 administrative fee.
“The mission of the Student Health Center is to provide eligible students quality, evidence based healthcare, preventative services, health education, and advocacy for optimal health within the university community.”
The Student Health Center is located at the Health Center Building (see building #29: Map).
Patient Care Hours are Monday through Wednesday from 8:15 am to 4:45 pm. Thursdays from 9:00 am to 4:45 pm and Fridays from 9:30 am to 4:45 pm (Limited services from 12 pm – 1 pm).
