The University’s Police Department (UPD) has logged multiple traffic incidents, Stan State building checks and theft at the Stockton campus during the week of Feb. 26- Mar. 2.
Traffic incidents
UPD was notified that there were multiple traffic stops which included speeding, expired tags, using a cellphone while operating a vehicle and multiple DUIs.
Building checks
UPD was notified about an alarm going off in Naraghi Hall of Science, but when they had showed up there was no one around and no sound of an alarm.
Classroom Annex room 102’s lockdown system was tested. Main Dining and Naraghi Hall of Science were found unlocked during routine checks.
Also, a fire alarm had gone off in the village and when UPD had shown up it was found out that it was burnt food.
Stockton campus
There were two items stolen from the Stockton campus and the property coordinator needed to be advised. The incident was then reported by Stockton P.D.
Other
There was a hypo needle found in lot 5, isle L, and it was properly disposed.
UPD responded to a report of hearing what sounded like two gun shots, the lights shutting off on the baseball field and the sounds of people screaming. UPD then checked the campus, talked to multiple people and no one had heard anything and nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
On campus, police responded to a falsified check in the Mary Stuart Rogers (MSR) Building. There was an incident between a Student Assistant and a male subject involving where the shuttle routes located an officer had been called out to handle the situation.
UPD had also assisted Turlock Police Department (TPD) with multiple suspicious suspects over the last week, an alarm caused by a window smashed and had helped with a warrant for a suspect’s arrest.
