The University Police Department (UPD) reported to several calls during the week of Mar. 5. The UPD logged safety concerns on campus, multiple traffic violations, and building checks.
Safety Reports
The UPD responded to calls about the DACA event Mar. 5 after concerns about possible threats of violence being made during the protest. UPD sent extra patrol for the DACA event and began to investigate the origin of the threats.
One caller reported overhearing someone talking about taking a person’s gun and she reported the information due to the email sent out by Stan State.
Traffic Stops
UPD gave out multiple citations for parking, traffic stop violations, driving while using a cellphone, and speeding.
There was one non injury collision involving two vehicles merging on Monte Vista Avenue.
Emergency Calls
The UPD responded to a false alarm at the dorms. The fire alarm was activated by food being burned.
There was two false alarms at the library when the librarian accidentally bumped into the panic alarm button.
Building Checks
UPD secured the interior and exterior of each building.
