According to the University Police Department’s (UPD) crime log, the police department responded to 36 incidents for the week of October 1st to 5th.
Bicycle Theft
Two bicycles were reported stolen this week from The Village.
Traffic Accidents/Collisions
There was a total of four traffic accidents/collisions reported this week.
One accident was in campus parking lot 4 involving two cars, no injuries. The second accident involved two cars, non-injury in parking lot 6.
There was a minor off-campus collision on Monte Vista involving two vehicles. UPD assisted Turlock Police Department (TPD) after someone ran over the curb and struck a tree, leaving a small tree damaged. The car was just south of parking lot 2.
UPD assisted TPD with a DUI traffic collision. Suspect fled from scene and was captured shortly after.
Warrant for Arrest
There was a total of four different TPD warrants for arrests this week. All three arrests were off campus and all three of them were released.
Suspicious Person
There were three people reported on campus for suspicious activity.
A male was reported looking into vehicles in parking lot 8.
UPD assisted TPD with an off campus suspicious person.
A male on a bike was reported to be following and contacting a female student on campus. She was walking down a service road when the man asked her, “Why are you running? Slow down.” The student stood by Student Services Building until a student officer called UPD. She said that the man was trying to promote his cousin’s YouTube music.
Other Incidents
Police rescued a cat trapped inside a garage near Mary Stuart Rogers building.
The cat was returned and taken care of.
Student reported someone stealing $100 after losing his wallet in Demergasso-Bava Hall.
