In the Stan State Volleyball season opener the Stan State Warriors fell short to the CSU San Bernardino Coyotes in 3 hard fought sets. The loss puts the Warriors at 0-1 so far in the season.
Despite the loss at home watchers in the crowd still enjoyed the game.
Kayla Cabral (junior, Kinesiology) said, “I thought the game was actually really fun. I have never been to a volleyball game before so it was actually really nice to get out the house and support my school.”
The Warriors played most of the 3rd set without libero, Chelsey Berry who injured her hand diving for a down ball.
Even with the loss the team has more opportunities to grow.
Jarred Morton (sophomore) said, “I think for the next game the team should communicate a little more and work on knowing when to let balls go if they feel it is out.”
The Lady Warriors played hard all 3 sets, and each time they were down they fought their way back to even the scores. The Warriors worked hard despite the results.
Amber Crabtree (senior) said, “Even though we lost I feel that the team tried their best and did everything that they could. But next time we will get them and be successful this season.”
The Warriors play again today as they host Cal Poly Pomona at 5:30pm.
