Every year ASI holds a festival in the fall for the Stan State students and the community called Stanfest. The festival has music, food, a photo booth and games. This years Stanfest will take place on September 22nd in the Amphitheater at 7pm.
Some of the acts that have performed at Stanfest in the past include E-40, Ty Dolla $ign, Sage the Gemini, and many more. Stanfest is a concert for the students and gives them the opportunity to relax and not focus on school for a day.
This year Kamaiyah and P-Lo will be performing at the Stanfest concert. Kamaiyah is best known for her song “How Does It Feel” and P-Lo is well known for his song “Put Me On Something”
Stanfest is a place where Stan State students have an opportunity to come together and enjoy a night of music and laughter.
Caycie Maynard (senior, History) said, “My favorite thing is having all of our friends together in one place.”
Stanfest is an event that all students can attend to have fun whether they want to see the performance or not.
Kayla Cabral (junior, Kinesiology) said, “My favorite thing about the past Stanfests was that I was able to enjoy my time. Even if I didn’t know who the artist was, I still had fun because I was surrounded by friends.”
Many students attend Stanfest simply its diverse environment.
Jesse Soria (junior, Pre-Nursing) said that she loves the environment that the concert brings.
“My favorite thing about Stanfest is that I love the environment that the concert brings. I also love what the college students bring to the diversity of the concert”, Soria said.
Some look forward to performers but others look forward to other aspects of the festival such as socializing and taking pictures.
“I couldn’t care less about the people, I look forward to taking pictures, spending time with friends and semi enjoying the music”, Maynard said.
Similar to Maynard, Kayla Cabral had good things to say about what she was looking forward to. “I’m not sure who the artists are this year, but I’m excited to see how Stanfest turns out,” Cabral said.
Students who have attended Stanfest in the past can make comparisons from prior events to this year’s event and have ideas of what things they would like to see done differently at Stanfest.
“For changes, I’d say maybe have artists that are a bit more well known or just a lot of other stuff to do instead of just watching the performer”, Maynard said.
There are some students that enjoy Stanest how it is.
“I wouldn’t change much about Stanfest. Each year that I go to Stanfest I enjoy myself and love making new memories with my friends”, Soria said.
Stanfest tickets are $5 and can be purchased in ASI’s office in Housing Suite 122. When purchasing tickets for the concert make sure to bring your student Id. For more information and details about Stanfest visit ASI’s website.
