Another year for California State University, Stanislaus (Stan State) means another day in the sun watching another season of Stan State’s record-setting soccer team.
This Thursday Sept. 1, the Men’s soccer team will kick off their first game of the 2016 season on home turf at 7p.m. They will be playing against Fresno Pacific University.
Warrior newcomers of the Men’s soccer team include 11 freshmen and four transfers.
Signed onto the competitive team are Christian Carranza, Dalton Catanzaro, Miguel Galdamez, Chris Gonzalez, Esteban Hernandez-Chavez, Christian Kiryakous, Emerson Lovato, Joseph Mayorca, Andres Olmedo, Alec Simas, Jack Stralen, Gabriel Tamayo, Kevin Villareal, Adrian Yepez and Tomas Zajfert.
Already expected to succeed, these newcomers will have a reputation to live up to on the Warrior team.
In their 2015 season, the Warriors walked out with an impressive program best record of 15-4-3. They were also a finalist in the (CCAA) California Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament (CCAA) for another year in a row.
Come out to the Warrior Stadium decked out in your Stan State spirit on Sept. 1 to support our team of legacy-leaving veterans and to give a big warm Warrior welcome to all those new to Warrior Athletics.
