This spring break, Signal staff were excited to wind down and take a break from work and school. They shared what they were up to and what they planned to do over spring break.
Signals Lead Editor Fernando Delgado (Senior, Economics and Political Science) said his plans for spring break are to relax and hang out with friends.
“This spring break, I plan to take it very chill and relaxing, hang out with some friends, and hopefully play some pickleball with them,” Delgado said.

He said that he took a break from school and work by spending time with his friends.
“On Saturday, I went to San Jose with some friends and went to the Cheesecake Factory, the mall and bought some Hirono blind boxes. Then I went to Santa Clara University to see a friend in a dance group perform,” he said.

Kaihli Miner-Hill (Sophomore, Creative Media), photo and video editor shared her exciting plans over break.
“Starting with the beginning of the week, I got to go to a San Jose Sharks hockey game and watch my favorite players do awesome!” Miner-Hill said.

She said she relaxed with some friends at her family’s cabin near Pinecrest, and has also been able to go on walks and catch up on her reading.
“Overall, it’s been really nice and a lot of fun!” she said.
Michael Fahey Jr. (Senior, Creative Media), photo and video editor said that he spent time with his friends and family over break while staying local.
“I haven’t gone anywhere yet for spring break, but I plan on going to some places like Santa Cruz, Monterey, or Sonoma to visit my sister,” Fahey said.
He shares that he is excited to have time off from school and to spend time with his friends and family.
“I’m excited to catch up with my friends and family, go on some cool day trips with them, and have a nice, calm time from school,” he said.

Anthony Daniel Reyes (Junior, Creative Media), photo and video editor shared what he did over break.
Reyes said that he was spending time with his sister in Sunnyville for the week of spring break.
“It’s a really weird sounding name for a town, but it’s actually quite nice,” Reyes said.
He visited the AMC theatre for the first time and watched “The Super Mario Galaxy” movie, and shares his opinions on the movie.
“It’s a children’s film, yeah sure but there are certainly some things they can improve upon for next time,” he said.

Emaan Nawabi (Freshman, Communications), editor shares her plans of spending time with her family and attending a CSU MAX conference in Los Angeles hosted by California State University, Northridge.
“This spring break, I’m planning on going to LA for a CSUN convention. I’m very excited as they’ll be showing us how to use Adobe and other creative software,” Nawabi said.
She reveals what she is looking forward to most during her three-day stay in LA.
“I’m looking most forward to the conference, I’ll be staying in a room with my friend and I’m really excited to hang out with her and learn about creative software!” She said.

While in LA she went to Pop Mart with her friends and then visited the Walk of Fame to take pictures with her favorite stars.

Katherine Zagone (Senior, Theater Arts), editor said that she went to Scotland and Ireland during her break, visiting towns such as, Edinburgh, Isle of Skye, Inverness, Sirling, Cork, Limerick and Dublin.
“I loved meeting the people. Everyone was so kind. If you stopped in the street to look at a map you had four folks fighting to help you to your destination,” Zagone said.
She talked about her experience at her favorite pub in Edinburgh, called “Never Really Here.” Which was found in an alley, one would have to wait for the light to turn on to be able to enter.

“Once you were allowed in- if they didn’t like the looks of you, you were turned away. They would make you a cocktail based on a conversation with you. It was a delightful experience,” said Zagone.
Sarah Jones (Junior, English), Webmaster shares her plans on how she will be spending time with her friends during spring break.

“I am planning on getting some personal reading done while I am on break. I will also be working on a project for a class. I will also be spending some time with friends, going swimming, finishing a few books, and listening to some music,” Jones said.

Jason Andre Fuentes (Junior, Creative Media) Illustrator and Cartoonist, shares what he did with his friends during break.
“I spent time out of town to be closer to nature and go hiking. I also explored downtown Turlock, where I picked up a fancy notepad from Paper Moon Stationery!” Fuentes said. “But my favorite moment this week was taking my friends to the bar to play at the pool table and sip on a watermelon lime mock-tail.”

Nate Nelson (Senior, Art), animator shares his plans during break, which include spending time with his family and planning his birthday celebration.
“I didn’t have any plans going anywhere except working, maybe going to San Jose to spend time with family or plan to do something there for my birthday on the 11th,” Nelson said.

“I’m excited to have some free time to do things I haven’t in a while such as painting away from school, skating, and just spend time with family, especially ones that I don’t have time to see,” he said.
Vanessa Angel (Junior, Biological Science), the Social Media and Marketing Producer, said that she has been catching up with her assignments during break as well as studying.
“I’m especially studying for Chemistry and Calculus as they are having exams back-to-back, but other than that, I am just enjoying relaxing with my family and pets,” Angel said. “This break was very much needed… I’m going to be glued to my computer till the end of the semester because of it, but also being mindful and taking some breaks to prevent the inevitable crash out that might follow me for the semester.”

She also said that she managed to get a game in with her online friend.
“Which I’m happy about since this semester has been busy with studying for classes,” she said.
Natalie Mejia (Senior, Communications), reporter said that she isn’t doing anything during break, but hopes to find time to go to the gym.
“Hopefully get time to go to the gym since my studies have been taking up most of my time,” Mejia said.

She also shares some exciting news regarding her Seahawks dance team.
“I received news that I am a semi-finalist for the Seahawks dance team which is very exciting and I will be auditioning in hopes of making the next round!” she said.
